HP has taken a unique marketing approach to their netbook lineup by calling them mini-notebooks but with their small size, extended battery life and lack of an internal optical drive they are definitely netbooks. If you're looking for the portability of a netbook but with more horse-power take a good look at the DV2-1044CA mini notebook. The AMD NEO processor improves performance when compared to the Atom but decreases the battery life down to 2-3 hours versus up to six for the Intel Atom. Straight from the box it comes with 4Gb of RAM, a 250Gb hard drive, Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n and an external USB optical drive. Its lightweight outer magnesium-alloy surface has shiny surfaces, rounded edges, and a clean design. The keyboard keys are large enough that you will smile when using it. Important keys are easily accessible and don't require additional function keys to press. The 12.1-inch display supports 1280x800 pixel resolution - more than sufficient to view 720p high definition movies. The HDMI and VGA connections allow to you display presentations to external monitors, large screen TV's and data projectors. Above the display is the HP web-cam with integrated microphone. Preloaded with Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-bit with Service Pack 1.
